Welcome to Project THX 138. I am glad to finally get this opportunity to do this web site about my passion, the American Graffiti Coupe. Many of you Graffiti Coupe nuts out there have already spoken to me at least 3-4 times on the phone, or by e-mail, and have been hearing time and time again that I was going to do this web site.
This web site has been given much thought and consideration to make it the most perfect American Graffiti Coupe web site known to every car nut. Now I donít want to say that I am the Messiah of everyoneís famous Coupe. But right now, Iím all youíve got, and Iím pretty damn good! I wish I could have taken credit for knowing all of this stuff myself, but after talking with many of you, we have put our heads together and have come up with the almost complete parts list.
I would like to thank two people that helped make this web site possible. The first person that I would like to thank is Rick Figari, the current owner of the original Graffiti Coupe, for sharing his wisdom and for his generosity with information given on the Coupe to me. Rick has spent a lot of time on the phone with me, and once again, I would like to say thanks, Rick. The second person I would like to thank is Doug Bjorn. Doug and I have worked countless hours on coming up with the correct list of parts used on the Graffiti Coupe. I donít know which one of us shadows the other on knowledge of the Coupe, but without him, a lot of this web site would be incomplete.
If you are reading this, then that means that you have been craving an A1 Prime Site dedicated to the American Graffiti Coupe. Now donít get me wrong, there have been some ďfairĒ and I mean ďfairĒ web sites out there that have been done on the car. But here lies the problem. You read one, and then you read another one, and the stories contradict themselves, much like many of the magazine articles written out through the years.
This web site is not some fly by night little thing that I thought of. It has been in the works for many, many years. And now I feel itís time to finally unleash the monster. This web site will have many, many, many never before seen items; and some of the very hardest to find items to complete your American Graffiti Coupe clone.
This site is divided into two parts: Part One is for the casual lover of America's Favorite Coupe. On this site, you will find tons of pictures of the Coupe, as well as products that were made based on the Coupe. Part Two is reserved for those who are passionate to the extreme about this car (and there are a lot of us), and have actually decided to take on the daunting task of building one of their very own. This section of the site is called "Milner's Mafia", and is a rich resource of never-before-seen photos of the Coupe, a complete parts list, where to buy parts, and many, many other features.
Now some of you may be asking, just who am I? Well, I put myself as the number 1 American Graffiti Coupe geek. Iím sorry, but I caní get enough of this car - I eat, breathe and sleep this Coupe. To those of you who donít know me, I guess I should say a little something about myself. Thereís not a day that goes by where I am not doing some kind of research on it. I first saw this car at the age of 10, and the moment I saw the movie, I knew that I wanted this car. Now, I am a practical man, and I know that owning the original Coupe is right next to impossible. But since I canít have the original, I want the closest thing to it. Besides that, I am a 35 year old married father of 3. So my time is divided between wife, kids, and The Project. But at heart, I am a 100% purist on hot rodding. Sorry, no $100,000 + street rods here!
If you want to know what kind of cars I like, besides the Graffiti Coupe, pick up a copy of what I consider the best Hot Rodding magazine known to man Ė Old School Rods. This magazine is 100% bitchiní! Keep up the good work, guys!
We welcome all hot rodders! On this web site you will see pictures of my ongoing project, updates, and all the troubles that I experienced building it. And when I say build it, I am doing it all by myself. So kick back, and get ready to cruise one hell of a web site Ė because this ainít your mommaís car youíre lookiní at! I hope to talk to each and every one of you, and to see pictures of your own Graffiti Coupe projects.
